CATEVA Outreach Ministries, Inc.

About Us
CATEVA Outreach Ministries, Incorporated (COMI) was originally founded in 1998 by Dr./Chaplain Barbara A. Singleton-Pradia. The ministry is actually a subsidiary of Women of Color & Faith Outreach Ministries. God showed Dr./Chaplain Singleton-Pradia the vision for the name CATEVA, and it was reborn in 2010. CATEVA is the names of her mother the late Evangelist Catherine A. Johnson-Singleton and her maternal grandmother the late Pastor Eva Johnson-Jenkins. These two virtuous women including her great-grandmother, the late Mother Catherine "Mamie" Johnson were very inspirational in her life.
C.A.T.E.V.A. acronym stands for Community Advocates, Targeting, Edifying & Empowering Victims of Adversity. COMI is an organization with services made available to victims of circumstances in the greater Rochester, NY area. Its concern is at-risk individuals facing multiple adversities and obstacles such as violence, poverty, drugs and alcohol abuse and homelessness. Our target areas include health intervention/prevention, housing/shelter, food, clothing, financial, and educational issues. Her church is a church without walls and the streets in the community is our sanctuary. The main concern of CATEVA is the “Eternal Destiny of Souls”.
As a faith-based ministry, COMI also offer grief counseling to homicide survivors which are family members of murder victims. COMI is motivated to utilize these initiatives and will be compassionate, diverse and cultural sensitive. COMI will strive to be empathetic and sympathetic towards others regardless of race, creed, national origin, political affiliation, social affiliation, ability or economic status. COMI strives to process a character and nature that is Christ centered and charismatic that allow others in need to seek our presence because being around us will be a welcoming comfort and contentment.
COMI is destined to make significant contributions in crafting a superior spiritual society. We welcome all laborers to the community harvest and vineyard. Furthermore, society will benefit tremendously and appreciate the fact that there are people who have a special connection in the community and they have a desire to make the community a better place. Community Outreach is an outstanding and biblical way to give back to the community and at the same time help people and organizations that are less fortunate.

Chaplain Community Outreach Evangelism (CCOE) is designed using God's blueprint and master plan for the harvest and for Kingdom building. CCOE is structured and built on the foundations of Jesus Christ Doctrines. It strongly adheres to our mandated and commisioned command by Jesus Christ found in Matthew 28: 17-20 and Christ-Centered commpassion, dedication and love found in Matthew 25: 35-41. Ordained Chaplains are aware that as Ambassadors of Jesus Christ we must "Go Ye" and let the harvest community know that "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, and that whosoever beliveth in Him shall not pershish, but have everlasting life" (John 3: 16). To God be all of the Glory...Amen.

Diversified Educational Initiative (DEI)
A subsidiary of CATEVA Outreach Ministries, Inc., is a state-of-arts learning center. The center also seeks to advocate for youth ages 5-8 who are struggling in English Language Arts (ELA). The academic content areas will focus on writing, reading, phonics, phonemic awareness, whole language, mathematics, and general academic awareness in a warm, caring nurturing environment, with supervised learning which will be structured to accommodate students in grades K-3. It is our mission to help our youth understand the importance of academic achievement, good behavior and to instill strong moral and social values as confident, caring and creative individuals. This is achieved within a circle of support from self-advocacy, parental, school, and community involvement.
The foundation of our program planning is to implement New York State (NYS) learning standards and common core curriculum. This is... vital. We will utilize NYS certified teachers, teacher assistants, tutors and volunteers. Our vision is to build high self-esteems, equip youth with better conflict resolution skills & personal development. We will promote high expectations for academic achievement. We hope to strengthen reading, writing and math skills. We will strive to provide healthy peer relations via an anti-bullying campaign. Our mission is to promote strong family and community relationships.
Furthermore we will structure cultural diversity and cultural sensitivity training for staff. Finally we will adhere to professional development workshops for all staff. Chaplain Training Institute was also birth in 2010 and the vision and mission is to empower community advocates with training, certifications and ordination that will help them to help people in the community. The courses and curriculum are biblical in format with instructions from God's word. The bible is used in collaboration with all instructions.
